I shot these photos when my family and I went to visit other family that moved to Alabama.  They live in a small mostly rural town of Brundidge, which is about half way between Montgomery and Dothan.

Rural life is completely different then what we are used to in the city.  There are several small shops and the pace is much much slower than our stressful life in Melbourne Florida.  A lot of the shops do not open until 10 to 10:30 in the morning and they close up shop by 4 or 5pm.  They do not have a lot of the things we take for granted like gas stations, convenient stores and a Walmarts at nearly evey corner.  The police department is small and there is no hospitals in Brundidge.  .

There is a lot of history in the town of Troy and a lot of interesting things photograph.  I missed a lot during our first trip to Brundidge, Alabama but we plan on returning in late summer or early fall to take more photos.

Brundidge is a small town and sprawling countryside with rolling hills, red clay that is hard as rock when dry but like slick grease when wet, farmland with plants, grazing cattle, and lots of wild animals running free. It was a relaxing place to visit.
